HSMW is not only a public university, it is also an open university. Through events such as the Night of Sciences, lecture series, Controversial Dialogue (Dialog Kontrovers) and the Children’s University, we bring science to life for the general public.
Night of Sciences (Nacht der Wissenschaften)
Once a year, the HSMW opens its doors to the public. Our researchers explain, in terms that everyone can understand, what they’ve been researching in the laboratories and studios throughout the year – with a particular focus on children and young people.
Controversial Dialogue (Dialog Kontrovers)
Do we all have to agree? Certainly not. Democracy and science thrive on debate. Exchanging arguments and seeking solutions: this is the aim of the Controversial Dialogue (Dialog Kontrovers) held at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
Children's University
We firmly believe that every child is naturally curious and loves making new discoveries time and again. The HSMW helps parents and grandparents to satisfy their children’s thirst for knowledge. At the Children’s University, scientists explain the world in a way that children can understand.
