Mittweida University of Applied Sciences endeavours to ensure that its website complies with the Act Implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Accessible Websites Act – BfWebG) in conjunction with the Ordinance on the Provision of Accessible Information Technology under the Disability Equality Act (Accessible Information Technology Ordinance – BITV 2.0).

This accessibility statement applies to the Mittweida University website, which can be accessed via the link www.hs-mittweida.de, but does not apply to websites that are not included in the central web CMS. 

This accessibility statement has been drawn up on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by Mittweida University of Applied Sciences to determine the website’s compliance with the requirements of the BfWebG in conjunction with the BITV 2.0.

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the BfWebG in conjunction with the BITV 2.0 due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions. 

• Alternative text for images and descriptions for tables are missing in some cases. 
• The hierarchy of headings is not always adhered to. 
• Links may be unclear. 
• Foreign-language terms are not marked with the appropriate ‘lang’ attributes and may therefore be read out incorrectly by screen readers. 
• Most embedded videos lack audio transcripts or subtitles. 
• Not all documents (e.g. PDF documents) are available in an accessible format. Embedded maps used for directions are supplemented with a text version. 
• In some tables, the assignment of table cells is missing. 
• Animated content (sliders) cannot be disabled. 

Mittweida University of Applied Sciences has a very extensive and diverse website containing a large number of documents. This was published before 23 September 2018 and does not fully comply with current accessibility standards in some respects. We are continuously working to make the web pages and documents accessible and to remove existing barriers.
