Public institutions

To encourage academic debate, the IKKS regularly invites local residents to its public lecture series and the Controversial Dialogue (Dialog Kontrovers) discussion forum. The youngest children are introduced to learning in a playful way at the Children’s University.

The services offered by Mittweida University Library are not just for students. Members of the public can also make use of over 100,000 items and 1,000,000 electronic resources here.

The IWD effectively transfers knowledge from the university into higher education, business and society, whilst at the same time sustainably developing modern forms of teaching, learning and working. It supports degree and continuing education programmes, research and development projects, and transfer-oriented collaborations both within and outside the university.

The Mittweida University of Applied Sciences Archives serve as the memory of our university – and are open to anyone with a legitimate interest. The collections and records date back to the founding of the Technicum Mittweida in 1865.
