Professors in the Faculty of Applied Computer Sciences and Biosciences

The Biotechnology and Chemistry Section combines fundamental scientific principles with applied research. Its focus is on molecular processes in living and non-living systems, as well as their analysis, understanding and technical application. This includes research topics from the fields of chemistry, biotechnology, analytics, environmental engineering and bioinformatics.

The Forensics Group combines scientific methods with digital and criminalistic issues. It focuses on the analysis and evaluation of evidence, data and interrelationships in order to shed light on the circumstances, support investigations and gain new insights for secure digital systems and forensic applications.

The Computer Science Section embodies the breadth of Applied Computer Science at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. It combines Software Development, distributed information systems, network and communication technologies, and data management with media informatics, virtual technologies and human-computer interaction. As such, it shapes not only teaching within the faculty’s degree programmes but also research and development in the fields of Applied Computer Science and media informatics.

The Mathematics Section combines mathematical fundamentals with application-oriented modelling, analysis and data processing. In doing so, it provides an important methodological foundation for computer science, data-driven methods and interdisciplinary applications within the Faculty. There is a particular focus on mathematical methods for data analysis, statistics, numerical methods and computational intelligence.
