Symposium on Sexual and Gender Diversity

The symposium will address the presence and reflection of sexual and gender diversity in social and educational contexts. It will also provide information on the lived realities and experiences of discrimination faced by LGBTIQ* people throughout Saxony. Furthermore, the symposium offers the opportunity for discussion with experts in anti-discrimination work, professionals in social and educational fields, and representatives of self-help groups from Saxony. 

• 4 December 2017 – Inclusion in Saxon childcare centres | Expert forum

A keynote presentation will address the living conditions and challenges faced by children from socially disadvantaged families. Following this, small discussion groups with practitioners and experts will provide an opportunity to explore questions, approaches and support options in greater detail from various perspectives.

The Dresden Association for Child and Youth Welfare Law (KJHRV e.V.) has been operating as an independent ombudsman service in the field of child and youth welfare since 2012.

As part of a research project, three students from Mittweida University of Applied Sciences have examined the work of the KJHRV e.V. through a case study and would like to present the findings as part of a professional exchange together with students from ehs Dresden.
