Orientation week for freshmen
During the first week of lectures from 25 to 29 September, first-year students will have the opportunity to get to know each other and find out more about the university. All first-year students are cordially invited to attend.
In the first week, you will learn everything you need to know for a successful start to your studies and get to know your fellow students. Registration is not required, unless it is explicitly stated in the individual events.
Program
Over the course of three days, you can expect a wide range of information mixed with leisure activities for a first exchange with each other.
- General information on WLAN and university login, use of the university library, studying abroad, the Studium Generale, university sports and BAföG (financial aid)

We also offer introductory events to the university library throughout the week. In about 60 minutes, you will learn everything about using the library, borrowing books, using the reading room and much more. For international students we offer an introduction in English on Friday, 29.9, 11 am. You can book an appointment slot here: www.hs.mw/bibliothek_erstis.
Digital information for freshmen
For "self-study" you can find the playlist "Infotage für Erstsemester" on the Youtube channel of Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. Important contact persons and many projects present themselves in videos and thus want to help you get into your studies. For example, the university library explains where and how to get the literature you need for your studies. The network and communication center explains how to check your e-mails with your university account and how to use the university network from outside.
