Monika Häußler-Sczepan Scholarship

For Professor Monika Häußler-Sczepan, her commitment to young academics has always been more than just a project.

During her many years as Vice-Rector for Education, she was therefore particularly committed to promoting young academics. In this field, she initiated and managed innovative models with nationwide appeal. The advancement of women and the promotion of gender equality in science have always been close to her heart.

In recognition of her services as an “avant-gardist of academic quality management in a rectorate function”, she was awarded the golden badge of honor of Mittweida University of Applied Sciences in 2019 by Sylvia Bäßler, the long-standing Chancellor of HSMW.

Another visible symbol of her special commitment is the “Monika Häußler-Sczepan Scholarship”, which is awarded to young female doctoral researchers at HSMW.

The first scholarship holder of the “Monika Häußler-Sczepan Scholarship” is Katrin Naumann, who is working on the topic “Untreated exit processes in crystal meth addiction and the importance of the social network. An explorative qualitative study to evaluate the development of addiction in Saxony”.
