2026 Awards Ceremony
Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (HSMW) plans to award the Ingrid von Reyher Prize for the fifth time in 2026. The prize is awarded for current or planned projects, initiatives, and concepts, as well as for exceptional commitment to promoting equal opportunities for women and men.
This year’s focus will be on recognizing women at HSMW who have demonstrated a wide range of commitment and exceptional dedication to promoting equal opportunities for all genders. The purpose of the call for nominations is to thank the selected individuals and honor their commitment.
The Ingrid von Reyher Prize is endowed with €1,000.00.
Who is eligible to apply?
- All female members of the university community are eligible to apply for the award.
- Applications from groups with multiple members, as well as from members of the HSMW, faculties, central departments, administrative divisions, or other organizational units of the HSMW, are permitted.
- In addition to self-nominations, members and affiliates of the HSMW may also nominate other individuals, groups, or the aforementioned organizational units for the award.
Documents to Be Submitted
The following documents must be included with the nomination or application:
A detailed description and justification of the initiative to be recognized, explaining how equal opportunity at HSMW has been or will be improved and how the sustainability of the results is or will be ensured.
Since these descriptions/justifications can be difficult to compare when there are several qualified applications, here are a few suggestions for questions that could be addressed:
- What specific situation or example illustrates this commitment? (What has been done or is being done? For whom? What has been the impact? What has improved—or will improve - and how, and for whom?)
- What distinguishes this person or these people in terms of character or how they interact with others?
- Why should this person or these people, specifically, receive the award?
- Is this person - or are these people - committed not only to promoting equal opportunities for all genders in the higher education sector, but also through social engagement in their private lives?
