Funding Projects

Although the advancement of women is regularly called for by politicians and society, women are still underrepresented in science and large parts of the economy. With regard to the reasons for the underrepresentation of women, valuable insights have already been generated in the past.

Nevertheless, our knowledge of the impact of practical measures to promote women is still very limited. It is therefore necessary to take a comprehensive look at the spectrum from school education to professions in the STEM sector in Saxony. To achieve this, two universities (TUD, TUBAF) and two universities of applied sciences (University of Applied Sciences Mittweida, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences) are working together in this project.

At the Mittweida site, the influences of the different subject cultures at universities are being investigated in order to derive recommendations for action that can be used to break up exclusionary structures. The focus here is particularly on the engineering sciences, which have a particularly low proportion of women.
