Buddy Program

The tutor programme makes it easier for new arrivals to get started in Mittweida. It is organised by the Cosmopolitan Club in cooperation with the International Office.

All exchange students are assigned a mentor for their time in Mittweida.
All students at the university can sign up for this.

As a buddy, you take care of the international student's needs. You are the first point of contact for your mentee, picking them up from the train station, getting them their dorm key and much more. This also includes helping them set up a bank account and dealing with the authorities. The advantage for exchange students is that they can experience the German way of life up close and make German friends more easily. Conversely, tutors tend to come into contact with the international group at parties or other events.

Often, friendships develop that last beyond the student's time in Mittweida.
