Coaching and Mentoring of Students

Coaching and mentoring of students is one of the main approaches of the lecturing concept of the SEM project. It guarantees the transfer of knowledge and competences between students and the academic staff without barriers. In order to achieve this, the students are supported via various supervising formats. This already starts during the first semester. The main focus is on assistance with papers and theses. All offers are incorporated into the curriculum to ensure a sustainable implementation.

Best Practice

  • Implementation of personal consultation for applicants with alternative university access (e.g. for the study course Business Administration) as well as on suitability for a master's degree study (Dr. F. Schumann)
  • Organization and realisation of orientation weeks for new students (for example in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programme Business Administration) (Dr. F. Schumann)
  • Supervision of students, especially in project work during the preparation of project, seminar and degree theses (in particular within the writing workshop (PD Dr. G. Süß / C. Hösel))
