Academic German for refugees with direct admission to study

Refugees who fulfil the academic prerequisites tu study at Hochschule Mittweida - University of Applied Sciences become prepared the the German language examination DSH in a German language course "Academic German for refugees". 

The course is designed for beginners, who speak no or only a little bit German. Attendance is obligatory.

The application for the course participation has to be done through the admission office of Hochschule Mittweida.

Study preparatory course for refugees without direct entrance to study

Refugees who need to pass the so called "Feststellungsprüfung" before enrolment to study in our university, can attend the preparatory course FSP. The course prepares the participants to the exam FSP.

The application for the course participation has to be done through the admission office of University of Applied Sciences Mittweida. There you find all documents to be submitted. Here you find special information in Arabic language.

At the beginning of the course you have to pass an entrance test to proof your language level. The lessons take place each day from 8.30 to 16.00. Attendance is obligatory.

Depeding on the selected study programme participants learn in two course groups: The course TI is designed for those who like to continue studies in engineering sciences. The course WW is designed for further studies in economics.

Participants learn mathematics, German language, economics / business administration, computer science, English, social studies, geografy, history, physics and chemistry.

To prepare the participants for the studies in a German university topics from daily university and student´s live are part of the course content.

Cultural excursions make you familiar with German traditions.

Participants will also attend selected lectures in the study programme of Hochschule Mittweida - University of Applied Sciences to prepare themselves for the studies. They get known with the campus of the university, with German and international students and they listen subject - related vocabulary. The lectures will be selected by the Studienkolleg on the basis of the study programmes, the participants have applied for. 

The FSP course finishs with the exam. Participants need to reach at least the mark 4 to pass the exam.

The study programmes in the university starts in October. The International Office informs all participants about how to go over to university studies (care@hs-mittweida.de).
